Re: Maintenance on a Boxster

I just purchased a 1999 Porsche Boxster.

>My maintenance manual states minor work, including oil changes, are to >be conducted every 15,000 miles ! >Can this be right ? I've never driven a car more than 5,000 miles >without an oil change even with synthetic oil. Comments?

That's the standard service interval. You're welcome to change it more often (I do on my '83) but I've never heard of adverse effects from sticking to the recommended changes. Emanuel

My manual states the same interval.. The manual dosen't lie, but most Porsche drivers take extra precautionary measures. For something as inexpensive as an oil change, certainly better to be safe then sorry.
