For some strange reason the digital readout on both these in a Rover Metro
86 are both so low that they can only be read at night.
Anyone know how to fix this?

Have you left the lights on ?
Its not connected to lights, the digital readout on both the clock and radio are both incredibly low, so can only be read at night when very dark. I'm wondering if this is a common fault, or fixable.

They dim when you turn on the lights so that they are not too brighrt when you are driving at night in the dark.
No, I can't see them unless its very dark, the LCD display is very very low.
Has the bulb in the back gone futt?

So, it lights up correctly when you put the sidelights on, but the digits are fading or missing, correct?

Would that be the digital LCD display with the redish looking digits? Cos if it is it has a bulb behind the display that makes it glow. Change the bulb and hey presto. Bright digits.

There's no bulb.
The Stereo display is LCD
The clock is a little LCD clock in the dash board, they're both digital style.
So the colour of the digits is black on a silver grey background, as per the LCD wrist watch type?

Then the fade is caused by the lcd display failing.
And you need a new clock.

Or, get a nice tv repair shop to see if a new set of led modules can be fitted.
