'85 900S hood sticks

Hello - my (new to me) '85 900S has a sticky hood (bonnet). You have to pull the lever, then pull up on the hood, pull the lever again and lift on the hood and it releases. Would this be a problem with the cable, latch, or springs? I tried oiling the latch area (dousing might be a more accurate description) all to no avail. thanks, Steve

Remove the latch, take it apart, clean it, grease it and reassemble it. This will almost definitely cure it. While you have the latch out, check the cable for free movement.
