Okay, now; the dealer wants $620 and the best price I could find for it is $420. This for a *lens* though. (This is the one that runs across the trunk lid.)
Any suggestion?

Try your luck with a used one. It should not be too hard to findand with that sort of thing, if it looks good it is as good as new.

I have. No problems.
Yes, that is called the "rear decor panel" and is very expensive new. Your only alternative would be searching the salvage yards, preferably the ones that will not know the value of that particular item...
