Seems like leather in older cars is more trouble than it's worth, it's always dried up and hard. A/C is easy to repair, even if it was working I wouldn't trust it to remain that way until it's been gone through.

Oh agreed. I think I got lucky with the Celica. Not been refilled for 7 years. I regassed it myself without vacuuming down and drying, and it has held together and very cold for a couple of weeks now.
With leather, as long as it isn't ripped, or terminally cracked, a little sagging isn't really a problem. Give it a really good leather clean (even unscented baby wipes work) then a good feed (dilute saddle soap cleans and feeds) and it will really bring it back to life.

General use brings it back to life. SAAB leather is of a very high quality anyway; certainly in my '89. A good clean up first and then get some "bums" on those seats :) Paul

Wish my bank balance was fine so that I could buy the car! sigh.
I'll stick with my 8V NA C900 and one day will find a nice turbo model around the traps.
