Down to just one SAAB...

Some of you may remember that I was somewhat dissatisfied with the handling of my 2000 9-3SE CV that I had picked up about 6 months ago. When I bought the car it was to be my summer fun-time car, but I found after driving it a few times in the spring that there was just something lacking in the handling department. I went through it from stem to stern, replaced both front control arms (they come with new ball joints and bushings), rear stancion arm bushings, front struts (Bilstein HDs), etc. and still was not getting the handling I craved. To be honest, I found that the '92 9000T I used to own and the '93 9000CSET my daughter drives handle much better. I wonder if what it was that I disliked about the handling would fall into the category of "cowl shake"?

I also found the amount of intentional delay on release of the accelerator to be rather annoying, especially when driving spiritedly and shifting. Well, I sold the car a guy from VT. I'm sure it will serve him well. So now the only SAAB in the driveway is my daughter's... 130k miles and still ticking along.

PS - I know I'm opening myself up for abuse from the SAAB die-hards, but I found a cherry (both in color and condition) '97 Z3 2.8L to fill in duty as "summer fun car". It's a blast to drive!
