How many people have SID problems?

So, that TSB was an illusion then? What year do you have?

I'll go out of my way to _not_ participate in a lawsuit for something as minor as this. Yeah, mine acts up, and I strenuously don't care enough to bother with it, let alone file a freaking lawsuit.

Maybe if you asked how it could be fixed (trivial fix) you'd get a more helpful response. As it is, I'm uninspired to google for it for you.

The dealer has to use a TECH-2 computer to program the SID for your car. It doesn't need marrying like the audio units, but the SID needs to know things like what engine and gearbox you have. Once his has been done the SID can be removed and installed as often as you wish. The TECH-2 is also needed if you move a SID between cars that are close in age but with different engines. If the cars are too far away age-wise then they may need a different SID, e.g. the gearbox buttons on newer automatics requires a SID with software that understands that the steering wheel has more buttons.

Small claim is your best bet. As far as I know, everyone who has a Saab has this issue. I, too, called the dealer with this concern because, by now, I thought, Saab has to know that the manufacturer of the SID is negligent because they encompass many production years of bad SID's. My next car will be Japanese.

This can not be true as my 1999 9-5 has not had this problem. The problem seems much larger because it is only the owners of the problematic SIDs that post and complain.
