Looking for small rubber part - c900 crank case hose grommets

Jun 07, 2004 4 Replies

There is a rubber hose running from the valve cover to the intake manifold. t uses rubber gasket to seal the hose fitting and these on the 84 900 are cracked and leaking.

Any parts sources south of San Francisco and north of San Jose,CA?

And where might I get it smogged by a Saab friendly shop?

If you what you are describing has a plastic fitting on the top of the intake manifold with two hoses (large and small) running to it they were a problem in the 900s of the mid 80's. The grommet rotted and the plastic was easily broken. Saab at one time offered a brass replacement that you epoxyed to the top of the manifold. Still have one on our 1986 900T. I happen to have a picture of it if you want me to send it. Maybe they have one in the back room of an old Saab dealership.

Good luck,

If he is indeed describing the grommet for the top of the crankcase, I got one within the last month from SAAB (Huddersfield, UK) - it cost about 3 UKP. Whatever the part, it's worth checking with the dealer if you want a new one!

Thx to all, I got some cool pix of a brass replacement and will investigate the dealer option as both t he c900 and the 900T need both ends of the hose's grommets.
