Althought the weaponry came from the US (made in Sweden with a licence) the Viggen was the only airplaine in the world that was reported to get a missle lock to a SR-71 Blackbird (yep, the most fastest and most beautiful airplane in the world).
This happened when Blackbird was flying over the baltic sea.
I'm not a Swede ;-)

What is it that gives you the idea that the Viggen came from the US and was produced with a licence in Sweden ?? Or do I understand you wrong ?

Hi SuoTimo,
I know the Viggen carried AIM-9 Sidewinders, just like nearly any other military aircraft in the western world. But the other weapons are BAe missles and a Swiss gun. Are they from the US you think ??
