Thermostat change

Is it possible to change the thermostat on a 1988B Saab 9000i B202i without draining the coolant?

If you just undo the thermostat housing, you'll lose maybe 2 litres of coolant. Repplace the thermostat, top up, and that's it.

But if the coolant is more than say 18 months old, you might as well replace it while you're in there.
