Not starting right.

I have a 99 sc1. The car runs great, but it has a hard time starting up in the morning. At a stop light the car will idle at 1000 rpms. Thats normal, but when I turn the key for to start it, is when the trouble begins. It only starts at about 300 -500 rpms and chuggs like it really wants to die. After about 3 - 7 seconds it jumps up to 2000 and back down to 1000rpms where it will stay. And occasionaly it will idle below 1000 rpms at a stop light. Any suggestions?

Sounds like the coolant temp sensor. As well as a dirty throttle body....

Hey thanks. You were a big help. I'll check those out.
