obd ii code p0507

Hey there ,

i have gotten this code and have related it to idle control valve.i changed it and i am still getting the same code.

The problem being that my 1999 sl1 idles up at 2000 rpm then eventually drops to 1200 rpm's and runs rough at a stop or idle .....any suggestions??? Have changed wiring ,spark plugs and idle control valve .

Look for a vacuum leak somewhere. If the intake manifold is leaking air, the computer will add enough fuel to make the air to fuel ratio 14.7 to 1, even if that means that the engine runs faster.

Then, the computer notices that it isn't idling as low as it should, and throws codes.

Good luck!

This is the same as what happened to our 99 SL1. We took it to the dealer and they found and Intake Manifold Leak and said it was not covered under the Ross-Magnusson Act (EPA) and the owners manual stated only the Exhaust Manifold was a covered repair. After much fighting back and forth and no help from the zone office (Customer Care Telephone Number) I told the Service Manager I would pay the $600+ repair bill and then take them to court. (Court is a block away from my job) they relented and charged me only for the gasket that was needed.

For good customer relations is what they sited.

In 2004 New York is like California in its emission controls warranty

8 years 80,000 miles which was signed into law by the Governor so folks that have this problem in at least NY can get some sort of relief.

I had just turned 36,200 miles mark when this happened. And the car makes different noises now then when we brought it in the shop for repair. Go figure. Saturn of Albany is one of the worst places to go for any repair work in my opinion.

Thank you .i was hoping no one would say that .lol ....i am keeping it as a last resort ......but it probably is the problem i am thinking ..............go figure that this has only happened since it was in at a saturn dealer for an oil change and a new door lock . then they tell me that the upper motor mount is cracked and so i let them change it and then they tell me that the head gasket is blown as well ...hmmmmmmmmmmmmm??
