P0404 Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Open Position Performance
Just wondering what to do here. Code has apparently been registered twice. The guy at AutoZone said that the 'pathway' from the EGR needed to be cleaned, mentioned carbon build-up.
99 Saturn SC1, 168,000+ miles. Still get great gas mileage, but burns some oil now. The car has been stumbling on acceleration lately, but only when the gear is a little too high (manual trans). Mashing the gas pedal or downshifting makes it go away. Don't know what other data to provide you. The car runs great otherwise.
