I have a 1998 SL1. At about 40,000 miles it was ocassionally hesitating while driving city and highway. At 60,000, the vehicle stalled, I would wait about 3 minutes and it would restart. Played that game for 10,000 miles, not mechanic could figure out what was wrong with it. Same situation as you. Eventually it would not restart. at 75,000 miles I had to replace the fuel pump(not cheap). It ran fine for 6,000(the life of the warranty). gave out again and mech. said I the fuel pump is bad... there's something for you to look into.
