51 update

After playing with most everything to get the 51 V8 running great, I'm still not happy. It runs, drives, but has both low compression and oil pressure and misses at high RPM. I'm pulling the 232 for a rebuild or a 289 swap made to look like the 232. The car is just too nice to cut corners on the engine. I'll report back with what I found, but I suspect a worn cam or bad valves is causing the lack of power.

Maybe it never had the "soft" cam replaced. Paul Johnson

I believe that there was a problem with very early camshafts...
