Can anyone tell me how many vanes are in a Avanti water pump? Or what is the main difference between a regular 289 pump and one for a Avanti? I always thought that the regular pumps had five and the Avanti had 6 for more coolant movement. Thanks Dave B.

The Avanti pump has a bigger snout with ribs, and a bigger shaft and nose. (Too big for the stock fan)
