As far as putting faith in Consumer Reports go, I have personally seen that your chances for a better report is equal to the level of dinners and gifts given to the testing engineers.

If it's so open that you saw it why has no reporter or anyone else done a story on it? It would be a huge scoop and make the reputation of the writer.
