I doubt I'll have any remorse over this car. I was never emotionally attached to it and if I get the bug to have another ragtop I simply have to go out to the barn and finish one of my other three!
I took it out for an hour's drive before Rocky and his son came to look at it, hoping to get some 'sign from above' telling me whether I should cancel the auction and keep it or let it go. To tell the truth, I enjoyed the drive, as I always have in that car, but felt nothing (and I do mean NOTHING) telling me I should keep it. I think it was truly time to say good-bye to it and move on to my other projects and cars.
That sounds like a fair price on the R1 Marshal in VT.... I don't know that I'd let ours go for any less, to be honest. Ours is not a 'show car' by any means but it is complete, correct, and in very good shape for its age.
have a case of seller's remorse in the near future.......
Windsor, VT has his 1964 R1 for sale (the last I knew). It was originally a Maine State Police car. I believe he is asking around $12,000. It's on the cover of the March 2006 Turning Wheels.
