Engine Compartment 1964 Daytona HT

Dec 14, 2006 1 Replies

I recently purchased a Daytona HT. The engine and engine compartment needs to be cleaned and the engine repainted or partially repainted (top side). I would like to know the best way to tackle this without pulling the engine. I know many of you are experts in this area. Any tips on cleaning and the way to re-paint (especially in the hard to reach places) without getting paint on areas you aren't painting (at that moment) will be appreciated. The car has AC and PS.

If you are going to paint with the engine in the car, get all the hoses and wiring out of your way first. You can pull the wiring harness into the driver side floor. Degrease everything carefully, remove the small parts for detailing. A small, deatail gun will get in most of the tight spots.
