The technology is just getting silly.

We've come a long way from Colossal Cave Adventure!

Or the Original Zork over tty :)

The WII is interesting, it's basically a souped up, dressed up game cube with some cool motion tracking technology.

Nintendo is banking on solid game play, excellent compatibility to the game cube, and the low price making the WII a must have. This is at extreme odds to Sony and Microsoft's "cram everything in including the blender" philosophy, with has resulted in high prices and high operating temps (which leads to reports of console crashes and failure).

Try this history of Zork,

Zork ( not I II or III, but the original PDP 10 version) began to really take shape about six months after Adventure appeared on arpanet, so yes, you are correct Adventure came first, but Zork was better :P

As I discovered them both in early 1978, so I've always considered them to be contemporaries.
