Omaha Judging Revisited

'Just received the following letter from Chief Judge Carl Thomas;

"After returning home from Omaha and taking care of some urgent personal business, I reviewed all the score sheets in all divisions. in Division 8 I found some anomaly in your division in the scoring of the 'Exterior' and 'Engine and Trunk Compartments' sections. The scores in the other two sctions 'Interior' and 'Equipment and Operation' remain unchanged.

The Best of Division is a Tie between Richard Dormois and Lew Skelton with 389 points. There are now Two Best of Division, 16 First place, 24 Second place and Two Third place awards.

I have revised your score sheet as follows.........As a result your new score is 385 which moves you to a First Place. Congratulations! I apologize for not being able to recognize your revised score at the Awards Banquet. A new First Place Trophy will be sent directly to you from Stu Tritt. You are welcome to keep the previous trophy you received.

I have notified the Turning Wheels Editor of your new score for the International Meet issue of Turning Wheels....."

Interesting, eh?

I was just very surprised that they would revise the results (not complaining of course). After all, it's not the first time the results have been questioned. Is there any precedent for this?

Questioning judging results? That's completely without precedent :)
