OT Click&Clack and other stuff in the paper.

1) A woman wrote in complaining about the doors on her 2004 Sienna FALLING OFF and Toyota declining responsibility. (23k on vehicle). This took eight column inches in their nationally sindicted column. Tom and Ray used about the same number of words berating Toyota for being so stupid and rubbed it in well. This is not your father's Toyota. (Bet it gets fixed, though.)

2) Reader call-in poll by same local paper shows that 17% want shop staff to say, "Merry Christmas", a few say leave it up to the stores, and more than three-quarters vote for "Ha[ppy Holidays."

3) Angry letter writer complains in Union-Tribune about increase in hotel tax by 2%. If you were putting out a lot of loot for a stay here, would you let another $2/day spoil it? Do you check first to find out what the hotel tax is? If so, do you remember what it was in SB? The UT is owned by a Republican family and most of their election recommendations are GOP - even "Duke" Cunningham, who they raked over the coals when the info came in & Duncan Hunter, with whom they did the same.

It's fun in the sunny lower left.
