301&itemE32196376&rd=1 I might have been interested myself in this one but I just found a

1958 Golden Hawk export version ( leatherinterior etc.) with just 45.000 miles on it ( still to be partially restored... anyhow)

How do you know if send you funds from the US to Germany you will get the car? In otherwords, what protection is there for a US citizen buying a car overseas?

Pekka, If you get the serial or body number from the car I can tell you if its an export or US car. The engine color is wrong.

Pekka, You are already "over your limit" on Studebakers and old cars in general. Don't even think about it!

Dick, I do know well that I am over the limit... once you get over the limit then justifying new "adoptions" to yourself seems to become surprisingly easy.....

Like said, I gave up considering the Packard Hawk...

The seller told me that it is imports from USA and that the production number/VIN is

58LS-1110

By the way Dick, I drove the '56 Lincoln coupe 1.200 miles without stopping for other than gas and some food 24 hours with my friend from Holland to Germany through Denmark and Sweden to ferry to take us to Helsinki .... and it was minus 15 degrees Celsius when we arrived ... radiator started leaking somewhere in the middle -- other than that we got home ( with some ´+ 600 pounds of Studebaker spareparts in the trunk and cabin... ( we also noticed that the trunk of '56 Lincoln coupe is too low for a Studebaker V8 ... once it was already there sitting in the trunk ...) But driving on our icy winter roads it was good to have some weight on the rear of that mighty Lincoln ... and as you recommended Dick --- I did it: I brought the Lincoln lower to the ground...

That car was a US car. It was originally the midnight black that it sort of supports now. Its body #125. Mike

Mike, thanks for giving this info. I know that some Packard Hawks ( how many?) were exported aready late 1957/1958. Pekka

Pekka,

38 Cars have an export indication on the buildsheet. There may have been a few that were not indicated on the build sheet, so it is impossible to know exactly how many but about 38. Mike

Reverse your thinking and you might come up with an solution. How would you assure a German that he would get a car bought from the you, in the US?
