Studebaker in the NY Times

Interesting article. I'm surprised that it has some minor factual errors- maybe Times editors fault. I have known Dave Kinney for many years. He is a very long time Avanti guy and has quite a collection of them. Among others he owns R1002 (second one built), two '85s which he bought new, a coupe and a convertible, a VERY low miles gold '64 R-2, etc. He also bought a lot of stuff at the Youngstown Avanti Motors auction some years ago. He has enough firewall sections to repair just about every Avanti on the road. I got a tour of his garage in Great Falls, VA a couple years ago. Paul Johnson
