To what end?
The first thing most folks learn in autocross is that they already own a LOT more car than they know how to drive. This is especially true when what you already own is as zippy as a stock WRX.
I'd say save the $ modding your car up for now, and instead invest in a race-approved helmet, and enjoy the fun of getting involved in SCCA drivers school in your local region and trying your hand at solo events:

So much depends on what you want to do with the car, how much you can spend and how quickly, what you can tolerate in decreased mileage, increased noise and harshness, etc.
Most folks proceed in 'stages' such as sold by Cobb and several others.
You have the wrong car to really make a great 1/8 - 1/4 dragster with, but autocross/rallycross - no problem, IF you have the driving skills.
Take a look at the forums at

Cobb tuning AP Stage 1 is probably the best bang if all you want to do is increase power.
