Holy spinning pickups !

Okay, slightly off topic, but I was driving my Subaru at the time.

I'm in the slow lane on the freeway, at the tail end of a line of cars, driving

60mph, amongst a moderate amount of traffic. A blue pickup truck comes up from behind, pauses for a few seconds, then moves into the middle lane. I don't think he signaled, but I could be wrong. Just then, I see a flash of red in my driver's side mirror, then hear a loud SCREEEEEEEEEEEECH ! Looking in my rearview mirror, I see the blue pickup sliding sideways, aiming at the outside shoulder, looking like it's about to flip any moment (It didn't). As I slowly continued, I see a red Camaro against the inner wall, facing the wrong way. With another car butted up against it. WOW !

I continued on, since I didn't do anything, and really didn't observe much either, but drove back the other way on the freeway after finishing my short errand. There was a fire truck, numerous patrol cars, and an ambulance. The driver of the red car was being loaded into the ambulance. The cops were still interviewing the driver of the pickup.

Later in the day, I drove that stretch again, and looked at the skid marks. Looked like the red car tried to do a 'three lane' change to the right in order to make an exit, but found the pickup comming the otherway, they banged, then both spun. The Camaro went into the wall backwards, with tire marks all the way to the top of the wall !

Unbelievable. Glad they didn't take me out with them.

In the evening, I was exiting the grocery store, turned towards the parking lot, paused, looked for traffic when ZOOOOM! some bozo zips right by me along the gutter. Moron.

It's just getting too dangerous around here !

Those great handling Camaros... a couple of years ago some stupid kid in one of those pulled out to pass a car on a two lane road in front of my house, in the middle of winter with all season tires. Impacted the neighbors retaining wall, backwards at about 70 mph. Totaled the car and the yard. Gee I wonder why there isn't a WRC Camaro or Firebird :)

What?!

All those Camaros, Firebirds and Trans Ams are WRC cars--you didn't know??

The difference is that for these cars, the WRC stands for "We Really Creak".
