Legacy Clutch Replacement

Mar 20, 2005 2 Replies

I think my clutch will need replacement soon. Sometimes when I try to accelerate, the revs increase but the speed doesn't. :-(

Anybody know how difficult it is to replace a Legacy clutch? I have a feeling it will require the removal of the gearbox or engine and I don't fancy taking on a job like that at the moment. If this is the case I'll probably take it to a mechanic.

Anybody know what the going rate would be around London, UK.

I've been told by my mechanic that the easiest way to do it is to remove the engine and do the clutch that way, rather than removing the gearbox. He told me it is just a matter of disconnecting the wiring harness and 4 engine mount bolts and thats about it.

Yes, you have to either remove the trans or the engine.
