Transmission Problems in 2006 2.5x Forester? (automatic)

Hi,

I have 22k miles on the car and have the worst type of problem becuase its intermittent so the dealer states can not replicate the problem.

What happens occurs only when I turn right and its like the transmission is slipping for a second or two. It can happen on dry or wet pavement and doesnt matter if I'm braking or not. I have not noticed it when just accelerating from a stop going straight or when turning left.

The dealer checked the transmission and they said its okay.

Any ideas on this annoying problem as my only course of action at this time is to hope it gets worse so the dealer can experience it. This problem has been occuring for the past 15k miles. I know I will need the extended warranty!

Thanks for any ideas, Steve

I assume you have an automatic!

I assume the shop confirmed the half-axles are fully seated in the diffs!

First, check the tires. They MUST be of the same size ,wear and correctly inflated.

Try doing tight, slow figure 8s in a parking lot on dry pavement.

If the problem does not show itself, you could try insatlling the spare (15A?) fuse in the FWD slot in the fuse box and see if there is any difference.

Maybe, if you post your city, someone could recommend a different dealer or an indie mech that can take a closer look.

very odd - maybe the dealer just gave you the 'brush-off'?

Make absolutely sure that the condition is dealer documented & YOU have a copy showing the problem, date and mileage.
