water swishing noise from bay

Hi All,

I recently had a radiator fitted, all seemed ok for appox 500miles. Now each time I start engine I hear a swishing of water noise. The noise seems to come from under the windscreen in the bay. When I rev while stationary the noise increases. Also when I break I can hear a movement of water. My heater still works so I dont think its an air-lock. Do these models (00 impreza 1.6) have manual or self bleed valves?

My performance is slightly less but this may be due to a fuel filter needing replacement. Can anyone help?????

I had a similar problem with a Toyota Camry. It was kind of a gruggling noise. The air conditioner had some sort of condensation tray inside the dash board that had a plugged drain tube. I couldn't find it, but I took it to the garage and the were able to clear the tube (which was free - must've been a really quick repair) and I've never had the problem again. I hope this helps.

Given the new rad fitted, I'd just about guarantee air in the system. It will probably also slosh on corners. See if there's a nipple on top of the thermostat housing. If there is, you've got a manual bleed valve. Park facing UP the steepest slope or ramp you can find (needs to be about

30deg), get it up to temp with thermostat open & heater on full then slowly open it & wait 'til no more bubbles come out. Close off & top up tank. Plan B if no valve is take the rad cap off when *cold*, jack car up to 30deg plus and repeat proc. Cheers

thanks guys will see if it works and let you know

cheers
