1995 cavalier brakes

Hi, My 95' Cavalier has 201,000km on it. The rear brakes lock up REALeasy. It's very unsafe. I have replaced both rear drums and adjustedthe brakes. That made the lockup not as bad, but still unsafe. Thetires will only lock at slow speeds (under 20km/h). But braking fromhigh speeds I can feel the rear grabbing way to much. Driving in therain is horrid, I have spun out a few times. Also lastyear a newmaster clyinder was installed. The ABS no longer works on the car, soI have pulled the fuse. I was quoted over $1500 to fix it, so that's ano go. Will changing the rear shoes to rivited shoes help me out? Anyother tips? Am I the only one with this problem?

Ummm, maybe they were changed once. Thanks for the info.

Well, I changed the shoes and replaced all the hardware. Problem solved. I did both at the same time, so I really don't know what was the fix, hardware or shoes.
