1997 Marquis heater blend / servo motor with ATC.

  1. There is no heat until a vehicle right turn is made and then I hear a door pop open/closed and heat is present. Once the air is to hot and the system is turned off, there will be no heat again until another extreme right turn is made. Everything else appears to function correctly.

  1. When the AC is in use and a right maneuver is made, the heat will start whereas you must turned the AC off and then back on. In addition, it doesn't matter what setting is used -- if any because it happens when OFF, there is always a clicking sound coming from somewhere behind or above all the air ducts in the dash center.

  2. I understand this servo motor / blend door is buried deep in the dash and would like to attempt the repair myself. I've looked at the diagrams provided by the below site, which isn't very detailed, and wonder if anyone would like to venture some suggestions or another more detailed diagram please.

sounds like the blend door actuator has some chipped gears inside it. look here for some background info on how the climate control system in your vehicle works:

Certain seems to hit the nail on the head -- from my first preview of just about everything you directed my attention to. Seems overwhelming complicated, but I usually feel that way when looking at diagrams and reading directions. "Doing" is usually a different story, so guess I have some work cut out for me.

Really appreciate the timely reply and your kind expertise.

Thank you.
