How do you properly install the force balancer? Do you have to be at tdc?

The force balancer on your 1986 Pontiac Grand Am can be installed only one way. TDC does not matter.

I have 4 different books on this motor, and not a single one of them tells or shows me how. Is there a set of marks that I have missed? If someone could give me some insight I would be very grateful since this is my only car at the time. Thanx in advance.

I think I see the problem. Your Mazda 2.5 DOHC does not need a force balancer.

The car is an '88 Grand Am with a tech 4 2.5 and a u engine code. I don't have enough info on this motor.
