Hello, I need to replace the EGR valve on a 97 Cavalier. Could someone tell me where it is, or what I'm looking for. Is this something I could do in my garage or should I just pay to have it fixed? It was a couple hundred canadian to have it replaced by someone. Thanks. Kevin

This looks very simple - apparently you have to take the resonator off the air cleaner assembly, then just unplug the connector, remove the two bolts, then take the valve off, remove all old gasket material, and install the new valve with a new gasket.
You may not save much money doing it yourself though, those linear EGR valves are expensive parts.
What was the original problem? It's possible the cause is just clogged EGR passages in the manifold..
