Blind freeze plugs

Whats the best way to try to remove and replace blind freeze plugs? I have two on my 97 Taurus that are between he engine and firewall. i cannot see them, but i can feel them. I stuck my digital camera down there and can see them leaking. There has to be a way other than pull the engine.

If that motor has a dogbone mount you can remove that and you should be able to tilt the motor forward more by putting the car in drive or reverse to give you more access to the other side of the motor.

Shove a screwdriver thru them and pry them out. Then get the rubber expanding replacements, put them up there and tighten them till they are "installed".
