BMW 740i electrical weirdness, reversed seat control

Hi folks, had to jumpstart moms '94 740i (open trunk) which was totally routine but now the seat control function is reversed...push forward seat scoots back...and the mirror dip in Reverse is reversed and dips up. Otherwise the car is fine and everything else works right. I've checked fuses and nothing blown. Help. Please email with ideas.

When boosting, did you accidentally, even momentarily, arc the cables reversed? sdlomi

Then it sounds as if the backward-operating functions are controlled by the same relay that has somehow gotten damaged. Strange, but it really sounds like the relay somehow got its polarity reversed. If your mom can adjust her thinking w/o worry, it may be just as well to run with the new directions sent by the relay. (Didn't understand what u meant by the "mirror dip in Reverse".) well that's the weird part, on BMW's when you go into reverse the passenger side rear view mirror dips down so you can see the curb, then in drive or park it shifts back up but now the mirror dips up and the mirror adjustment like the seats is reversed....weird
