Disabling alarm on '89 Toyota Cressida

Keeps going off spontaneously. I've asked about this before and someone suggested removing a fuse, but there doesn't appear to one on the main fuse block that's in the engine compartment. So far not finding any reference to one in the shop manual.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

If you have the factory manual take a look at the wirng diagram section, it should show you were the alarm gets it's power from. It may share a fuse with other components but you could always cut the power feed to the alarm.

If you don't want to disable the alarm check the switches for the doors, trunk and hood. A bad switch will cause the problems you are having and may be an easy fix. The shop manual should have all the info needed to do this. An easy check would be to close the hood , trunk and lock the doors with the alarm set. Now try to lift up on the hood and trunk without actually opening them then try to open the doors while they are still locked by pulling on them with a little force. If you find you can cause the alarm to go off check the switch for whichever item set off the alarm.

Look in the Body Electrical section of the factory repair manual.
