If PCV valve is plastic, user will not notice that the air flow from rocker cover to inlet manifold is hot ( in a hot climate ), only if valve is metal, user can touch & notice this heat. I think if a * is added, air intake will be much cooler til (i) EGR ( consumes electricity - scarce when alternator is hot esp when heated by aircon radiator's hot air fanned out ) will be unnecesary (ii) lower octane petrol can be used (iii) air intake is denser ( more oxygen ) & combustion faster so more torque & lower exhaust noise. Has any1 here added a * to his engine's PCV hose ?
Does any engine's PCV hose have a intercooler* ( for hot climate ) ?

Yeah, I added one to my cigarette lighter too.
I've heard of only the opposite being done -- insulating the hose to prevent freeze-up during prolonged driving in very cold weather. Ford issued a new PCV valve and hose for this issue with their 1.9L engines, around 1993-94.
