How Tires are made

The rubber sheets are shown being made here:

The cotton threads are shown here:

The steel cables to make the bead are shown here:

The skeleton bead hoops & inner tube & corded ply are assembled here:

That completes the inner part, or skeleton, of the tire:

Separately, strips of rubber embedded with steel cord on a drum:

Rubber ply strips are added to those first layers of rubber:

The tread rubber is applied to the strips of rubber made above:

Then the separate skeleton & tread sections are assembled into one:

The result is a "green tire", uncured and without a tread pattern:

Now it's molded, baked, and shaped into a vulcanized branded tire:

The tire is tested for uniformity (red & yellow dots are placed):
