How to take door lining off without busting it?

Question

I took the interior door lining/shell or whatever you call it off my driver side door.

After taking the screws out, I pried the door off, and cracked all those plastic things off that hold the door in place. Don't know what you call them, but they are arrow shaped, and poke thru the holes.

Is there a way to back them out of the holes without cracking them off? I did not have access to the other side of the holes, so I could not bang the arrows things out.

I guess it's too late now since theyr'e busted, but for future reference, how do they do it in the car shops?

I think there is a special tool for it. I can usually get them out with care and a claw hammer if they remain stuck in the door. Thankfully I haven't had to deal with a GM car door for a few years.

BTW, hardware stores sometimes carry them in the special fasteners sections.

Christmas tree retainers.  Just buy new ones, they are very cheap.

There is a tool that is made for this and only cost around$6. You can buy it at any good automotive store.
