Yes, it's called common sense, which is apparently an oxymoron.

On my cars, if you get too close, these three bright red lights come on - which is a warning for you to back off!!!
But what if he's sleeping? Common sense isn't present during REM.
which cars?
Or any other time, to judge from most of the imbeciles on the road today...
You should keep back about fifteen feet for every 6 mph of speed, or you should pass something two seconds after the vehicl in front of you passes it. There is no market for a device that does this automatically, as anyone who really needs it is too stupid to buy it, or should never have been given a license, in the first place.
You are obviously some kind of troll.
Ha - 15 feet. You haven't driven any part of I-95 or I-93 in the northeast at rush hour, have you? It's impossible to have much more than
10 to 15 feet between vehicles.Punch wrote in article ...
Actually, any car I happen to be driving.
I guess I forgot to mention that these three lights - left, right, and high-mount center - are all electronically-linked to the brake pedal, which I apply when anybody is running too close.
If, when viewed through the inside rearview mirror, any portion of their car disappears below the lower edge of the rear window, they are too close for my liking, and I activate the warning system.

Bummer, but it appears that a round from a Recoilless Rifle is not particularly politically correct in most states. Nor is a set of rear facing tungsten steel spears...

Nah, he is that guy in the minivan about 2 feet off your rear bumper, connected by SBC wireless to the internet and typing away on a laptop at the same time as tailgating.

Around here, the soccermoms seem to consider this some sort of flirting, in the form of an invitation to get even closer.
My young friend was cruising down the city expressway in an old GMC one night to a concert and some superfly in a Lincoln was on his bumper. All of a sudden the oil light came on as a rod went thgough the pan and oil instantly covered the windshield of the tailgator. The tailgator pulled off and my friend continued on more slowly despite his problem. In fact, my friend kept pouring oil in and eventually got the truck almost home.
Yeah. It's called "common sense."
