Is there an air conditioning "stop valve"???

I'm going to try and find the leak in my A/C and have a question...

If I remove the compressor, and blow air into the high side line, should I get air/oil out the low side line? Or is there a valve of some sort that would block this?

Last time I had the A/C open I was trying to flush the lines and I wasn't able to blow through the system.

Some version of expansion valve.

The proper way to flush is to disconnect each individual component. You can't flush the receiver/drier and you can't flush the compressor...

That's what I figured, but the expansion valve is buried under the dash in my 1993 Mazda 626. I was trying to avoid a lot of dissassembly. Everything else is easily accessed.

Guess I'll need to figure out exactly where the valve is and how to get to it.

Thanks!
