Mazda RX7 1.1 1979 for sale - what to pay attention to??

A Mazda mechanic and I rebuilt my 12A engine and everything was going great until he realized that he had put the eccentric shaft in the wrong way. We had to take the thing apart and put it in right. That only took about 20 minutes. For assembly, all the seals are held in place with gobs of Vaseline petroleum jelly which has a Mazda part number. The first time you start the engine it burns off the stuff with lots of smoke. It's a ridiculously easy engine to work on. To bad it's such a gas hog.

All the common cars of that era had carburetors. The spark plug made sure you got ignition and the fire would shoot several feet out of the exhaust tip.

I cant imagine anyone would want to do such a thing now, with catalytics in the way, everything very expensive to replace.

Wow. That goes way back to when I was about 10. Uh, about 10 years ago... Yeah...yeah...10 years ago! ;)
