Place to find instructions for installing radiator...

... in a 2000 Jeep Wrangler, 6 cyl, manual with a/c.

Where can I find instructions to swap out the radiator?

I posted a message earlier asking about where I could find a reasonably priced one and I got good responses and for that I am grateful. Today, after driving to work in the dark, I foud that my radiator basically exploded like a constipated baby when given too many prunes, if ya know what I mean. Rusty water sprayed all over my engine and on top of my hood.

Anyway, this morning's occurances forced me to go ahead and order the radiator now. It should be here tomorrow, but I am pretty broke so I won't be able to afford to have it installed for me. Also, I am not all that mechanically inclined, so I ask... is there a place where I can find clear instructions on how to swap out the radiators?

Thanks for any info you can provide.

There is no "procedure" to follow when replacing the radiator. You should replace the two large hoses that are connected to it, and this would be a good time to go ahead and get new belts, and consider replacing the heater hoses as well. You said that money was an issue, so I would recommend you to replace the upper and lower hose (the big ones) and also replace the hose clamps. The other stuff I suggested should be done depending upon how old and cracked they appear. The large hoses have to come off, so they should be replaced, the other stuff can be inspected without taking it off, and if it passes inspection then it can stay in place.

The radiator has a petcock on the bottom to drain it, but the hoses and the block will still have coolant that will come out when the large hose on the bottom is removed. You should dran the coolant into a pan of bucket, do not allow it to run down the gutter into the storm drains. Once the radiator is empty, you can locate and remove the bolts holding the shroud in place, then also remove the bolts holding the radiator to the vehicle. You might get some interference from the fan, if so, then you can remove the nuts holding the fan to the water pump, and pull the fan, shroud, and radiator all out of the engine bay at one time. Replace the radiator, and drop all of this stuff back in.
