It's a 92 240 wagon, automatic, black exterior and cloth interior. According to the guy who has it, the thing is in not good but excellent condition. It's got 193,000 miles on it. Had the timing belt changed not too long ago, always serviced at the original volvo dealership, with the records to prove it. His price is $3500 and he won't dicker.
This guy buys and sells volvos that dealers can't sell and is a wholesaler of sorts. He bought it from the Volvo dealer where it was traded in (and serviced), for somewhat more than he would normally pay for such a car, he says. His opinion is that, at $3,500, I would be paying fair top dollar for the car. IOW, even he agrees I'm not getting a deal; he thinks $3000 would be a deal, but says he can't sell it for that. The extra $500 doesn't worry me too much -- unless I'm really getting taken at that price.

He's also got a white 88 (or 89) sedan with 105k miles on it, for $2,500, and he says that one is in remarkable condition (as opposed to excellent) and is stunning. But, well, I need a wagon, not a sedan....
