If you click on the above link, firefox should offer you two choices:

If you have a bit-torrent client installed, then Firefox should offer you the choice of opening the file with the client. I have uTorrent, and that's what firefox offers. If you "manually navigate" to an .exe file, well that would theoretically be (or should be) your bit torrent client. Opening a .torrent file with anything else (some other .exe program, like notepad.exe) is useless.

Saving a .torrent file to disk is also useless if you don't have a bit-torrent client installed.

It opens the client and then sits at zero and never downloads anything. Probably because those with the file are too few and nowhere to be found.

You have to be very careful with the links you click on when you're on a torrent site. You only want to click on a link to the torrent file - not the other garbage files (like so-called "download-accelerators") they confuse you with.

The thing that probably is confusing if people haven't done this before is they need to have bittorrent, or some other torrent client installed for it to work like it's designed to without hickups.
