Toyota tech do appear to have good job security for the foreseeable future.

So how do you see them replacing all the valve springs on these?

tearing the heads off all of them and doing a top end job?

Wonder what the book labor is on that job at a dealer.

Do you know what the defects are? I havent read anything about the exact nature of the problem, nor how many cars have really had problems with them.

If they are like most spring failures I have seen in the past, they may break due to fatigue. That isnt necessarily an engine killer, nor is the cure always a top end job.

I dont know about these cars, but on some replacing the springs is dead easy, just by removing the valve cover. I suspect these are OHC engines, and the difficulty the repair could be a lot more complicated.

Valve springs are easy.Once the cover is off and cam out of the way they pay about .2 - .3 hours each. Ben
