Your argument is very ironic, then, considring that Volvo (from Sweden where it snows a lot) made ONLY rear-wheel drive cars until the disastrous product lines (S-80, S-60, etc.) that ultimately led to the death of the marque and its takeover by Ford.
That much is obvious.
I can tell you
I'll put my '66 up against any car you drive, any day.
And of course they are
I'll give you mileage and emissions, but you're dead wrong on everything else. My '66 Has 275,000 miles. my '73 has 439,000 miles. Both are still daily driven, and will be so for many years to come. On the other hand, my wife's 93 is showing signs of impending massive organ failure at
230,000 miles- about where all modern cars give up the ghost and it costs more to repair them than junk them. Not to mention that all the plastic trim starts falling apart.Horse crap. I've never had a pre-1980 car go LESS than 200,000 miles, and I've had exactly 2 post-1990 cars *make* it to 200,000 miles without costing a fortune.
