Hi, I have a 20 year old Nissan sedan which I drive in a tropical country. The problem is that, occasionally (not everyday), when I drive it for the first time of the day, it will stall after driving it for a couple of minutes when the car comes to a stop e.g. at the traffic light. Or it will stall as I try to get it moving again when the lights turn green. To ensure it doesn't stall, I have to make sure the car doesn't become stationary, which is kinda difficult if there are traffic lights or a traffic jam. Great thing is that the car refuses to start until at least 30 minutes later, but after that, it runs like normal. So I'm made to look like a fool after sending an SOS to my mechanic and by the time the mechanic arrives the problem is gone. As I mentioned, this happens only occasionally (though it seems to become more frequent lately)- specifically, if the car has not been driven for a couple of days or if the weather is cool (rainy). My mechanic doesn't seem to know the reason. He insists it's the "contact point" and has changed it every time I took the car for servicing, and also changed the spark plugs. Well, it's been only a month since the last service and the problem still persists. Thanks for any suggestions I could suggest to my mechanic.
