I am looking to buy a 99 Ford Escort, everything looks great and it runs great, but I am worried about the high mileage. It has just over
180,000 on the original engine. The transmission, a manual, was replaced recently, but I do not have the details. I have seen several of these Escort wagons of similar years for sale with around 180 to
190k miles, but never any higher. Is this about their maximum lifespan for these engines. What do you think? What have you seen?
