Tech: 1990 Grand Caravan 3.3L won't start.. Has spark & getting fuel

Aug 10, 2006 4 Replies

It'll crank & crank and won't start.. It has a code 22 (coolant temp sensor). Sensor & plug have been replaced. Still nothing. If you disconnect the collant temp sensor plug it'll start for 3-5 seconds and run at about 2400 rpm, then die out. Computer has also been replaced.

Any ideas???

Thanks Chas

Since it would run for 3-5 seconds after disconnecting the temp senor plug, that fuel pressure wasn't the problem. I'll have to see what it is..

It's the only way the engine will run . Also, when you disconnect the coolant temp sensor, the cooling fan should come on and it doesn't though the fan motors are fine.
